Donnelly Group, Northern Ireland’s largest family-owned new and used vehicle retailer, is seeking applicants for its 2019 apprenticeship programmes.
An open day to inform and recruit Sales Executive and Vehicle Technician apprentices will take place on Thursday 20th June at Donnelly Group Headquarters in Dungannon, from 3-7PM.
Representatives from the scheme educational partner, South West College will attend the event to which parents and potential applicants are welcome and can apply to their chosen programme on the day.
Robert Fitzpatrick, Head of Group Learning and Development at Donnelly Group, said:
“Our open day event will showcase the exciting apprenticeship opportunities available at Donnelly Group and we expect a high level of interest and applicants.
“In 2018 we welcomed 45 new apprentices, many of whom are now full-time employees, and we are sure this year’s scheme will be just as successful.
“Our Vehicle Technician and Sales Executive apprenticeship programmes provide hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment, an opportunity to earn while you learn, industry-recognised qualifications and continual professional development.
“Excellent customer service is at the heart of all we do at the Donnelly Group across our nine locations and our apprenticeship programme provides access to the industry for those just starting out in their careers.
“Our customers are extremely loyal, which I believe to be a result of the exceptional service they receive throughout both the sales and aftersales processes so it’s really important that our staff have the skills and knowledge to ensure this high level of service is continued.”
The Sales Executive course runs for 18 months after which successful candidates receive an IMI (Institute of Motor Industry) sales qualification. The Gold Level 3 Motor Vehicle Technician apprenticeship provides participants with an NVQ level 2/3 and/or a foundation degree over a 4-year period.
Participants on both the Vehicle Technician and Sales Executive apprenticeship schemes will receive a salary throughout the apprenticeship.
Mr Fitzpatrick continued:
“Over the past number of years, we have had more and more female applicants. It’s great to see this number of women interested in what was a traditionally male-dominated industry.
“We look forward to welcoming our new apprentices to an organisation which is continuously investing in its future, in terms of both employees and infrastructure.
“With a workforce of over 800 employees and ongoing investment at our nine sites across Northern Ireland, including our newly opened £6m Jaguar Land Rover showroom in Dungannon, this is a very exciting time to work for Donnelly Group.”
Donnelly Group operates from 9 locations across Northern Ireland with new vehicles available from 18 manufacturers and thousands of used vehicles available at any one time.
