Killyman Community Playgroup are amongst the first round of successful applicants to be awarded funding from the Donnelly Group Foundation, which launched earlier this year. Situated near Dungannon, the playgroup used the funding to purchase new musical instruments to help the kids learn through music.
Roisin Donnelly, Spokesperson for the Donnelly Group Foundation commented:
“We are delighted to award funding to Killyman Community Playgroup and it is wonderful to see just how much fun these children are already having with the new musical instruments.
Music plays such an important role in early childhood development so it is great to support this local school with their purchase.”
This year, Donnelly Group launched ‘The Donnelly Group Foundation’ whereby local community groups across Northern Ireland can apply for financial, community and volunteering support for their organisation.
Roisin added:
“The Donnelly Group has supported the local community for more than 70 years and the Donnelly Group Foundation was established to build on that and really extend the reach of our support.’’
“For every retail vehicle sold, Donnelly Group will make a donation to the Donnelly Group Foundation, and these funds will then be used to financially support communities, charities, and organisations right across Northern Ireland.
“This initiative is a really exciting development in our commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility allowing us to support a larger volume of projects across the province and it is something that all of our employees, across all of our nine locations can get involved in.”
There will be three rounds of funding available within each twelve month period with the next deadline approaching on 31st January 2020.
