The California 6.1 offers comfort in a small space. You can set up the elevating roof of the California 6.1 in just a few easy steps at your holiday destination or stopover. The expanding roof gives you extra space to move around in the passenger compartment. Setting up the elevating roof is easy in the California Ocean as it’s operated electrically. As night falls, you can transform the campervan into your own comfortable bedroom to sleep four.

Prepare a tasty meal anywhere, any time. A kitchen on wheels: the California 6.1 offers you a fully fitted kitchen with a cool box, sink and stove kitchen unit. The mini-kitchen in California 6.1 Beach Camper can help you prepare basic meals and is easily stowed when travelling. Plus there’s a camping table and chairs which can be set up outside or stowed neatly away to save space when not being used.

Control panel and The California on Tour app

With the camper control panel you now have a digital central unit at your disposal that allows you to conveniently control numerous functions such as, the on-board cool box and auxiliary heating. The menu items are intuitively selected via the touchscreen.

Performance & Safety

Two of Volkswagen’s 2.0-litre diesel engines are offered as the choices for the new California, giving you as much as 178bhp to work with. Cruise control and a regenerative braking system are included as standard - as is the ‘freewheel’ system that uses kinetic energy to save fuel. As a result, the camper van delivers as much as 39.2mpg combined.

Supported by two independent suspension systems, the camper has finely-tuned shocks and both front and rear anti-roll bars. Other safety measures include the front and side airbags, inertia reel seatbelts, ABS, ESP and Hill Hold. Optional Lane Change Assist will also add an auto-dimming rear-view mirror and rain sensors to the specification.

3.: Valid for vehicles up to 6 years old and up to 100,000 miles at point of activation. 12 months’ Warranty and Roadside Assistance applies to vehicles up to 3 years old. Vehicles aged 3 - 6 years will receive a minimum of 6 months’ Warranty and Roadside Assistance. MOT Cover is underwritten by Bspoke Underwriting Ltd on behalf of Watford Insurance Company Europe Limited and administered by Lawshield UK Limited.
4.: Covers first 5 consecutive services, limited to: 3 x Oil Service, 2 x Oil & Inspection Service with Pollen Filter, 3 x MOTs. Additional work, including wear and tear, is excluded. Warranty: earlier of 5 years or 124,000 miles.
