FIGHTING WORDS NI GETS KIDS ON THE ‘WRITE’ TRACK THANKS TO DONNELLY FOUNDATION

Fighting Words NI has received generous funding from Donnelly Foundation for its creative writing workshops in Connswater Shopping Centre, Belfast.

The financial support, which came from a charitable fund established by Northern Ireland's largest independent vehicle retailer Donnelly Group, was used to provide writing and arts and craft materials with the aim of providing young people aged 6-18 with the tools, support, and inspiration to express themselves confidently and creatively.

Roisin Donnelly, spokesperson for Donnelly Foundation, said:

“Donnelly Foundation was created by Donnelly Group to make a meaningful contribution to the community, and we aim to support young people through our relationships with local schools and charity groups.

“I had the privilege of visiting one of Fighting Words NI’s creative writing workshops at Connswater Shopping Centre to see firsthand how children benefit from this initiative, and the creativity was palpable.

"It’s incredibly rewarding to witness the direct impact of Donnelly Foundation funding, experiencing how it supports community growth and inspires positive change.”

Donnelly Foundation has supported nearly 30 projects since it was founded in 2019.

It continues to demonstrate a genuine commitment the communities in which it operates, with Donnelly Group’s Boucher showroom located only 15 minutes from East Belfast.

“We were delighted to meet Roisin Donnelly and thank her in person for the donation from the Donnelly Group Foundation that will enable us to buy more writing materials for children and young people taking part in our story making workshops.

“Seeing their faces come alive as they create incredible stories is such a joy, and it’s truly inspiring to witness how these workshops ignite their imagination and boost their confidence.
