Donnelly Group Foundation supports green growth at St John the Baptist Primary School

St John the Baptist PS, Roscor has received a generous donation from Donnelly Group Foundation which has supported the green growth of the school’s Eco Committee.

Donnelly Group Foundation has provided the Co Fermanagh school with a range of gardening resources including a new poly tunnel, tier staging, raised beds, topsoil and bark floor.

Roisin Donnelly, Donnelly Group Foundation spokesperson, said:

“For over 70 years, Donnelly Group has been proud to lend its support to communities and charities right across Northern Ireland, and we are so pleased to have been able to contribute towards the green gardening project at St John the Baptist PS.

“It is wonderful to see children from P1 right through to P7 utilising this fantastic gardening space and learning more about the importance of growing fruit, vegetables and flowers throughout the year.

“Sustainable projects such as these are incredibly important in terms of the development of our school communities, and we hope that St John the Baptist PS continues to grow for many years to come.”

Tracy Carney, Principal at St John the Baptist PS, said:

“Providing our students with a range of learning opportunities, both within and outside the classroom, is extremely important to us here at St John the Baptist PS.

“The donation we received from Donnelly Group Foundation has allowed us to further develop our Eco Committee and garden, where all classes can learn more about the world around them and how they can help improve our environment.

“On behalf of all the children at St John the Baptist PS I would like to thank the Donnelly Group Foundation for their help in bringing our school garden to life.”
