Just as the new Berlingo van goes on sale in the UK, it has started to rack up the awards by securing the coveted ‘Light Commercial Vehicle of the Year’ title at the What Van? Awards 2019. In addition, the new Berlingo van beat off the competition to take the award for ‘Light Van of the Year’. These latest awards come within months of the new Berlingo van being named ‘International Van of the Year’ 2019.
James Dallas, Editor of What Van?, said; “The Berlingo has always been a big seller for Citroën and the new van sees it take a step up in terms of quality, performance and practicality. Along with its PSA Group siblings, the Peugeot Partner and Vauxhall Combo, the Berlingo Van has an excellent choice of engines wedded to much-improved transmissions, including the outstanding EAT8 automatic.”
James added; “There is a wealth of new safety and driver assistance kit, with two particularly noteworthy additions being the on-board weighing system and the surround rear-vision camera. Trim levels are revised to suit applications, with ‘Enterprise’ now topped by the flagship ‘Driver’ specification, with ‘Worker’ designed to traverse more rugged terrain, such as building sites.”
