Use your qualifying mobility allowance to lease a brand-new vehicle. You'll get the Scheme’s all inclusive package, including insurance, servicing, maintenance, breakdown cover, MOT, repairs and tyres and support with electric vehicle (EV) charging. Set off with peace of mind and the confidence to make every journey possible. Just fuel or charge and off you go.
With the Motability Scheme, you simply exchange all or part of your Motability allowance to lease a vehicle. The Scheme offers a range of over 2,000 models, including over 500 cars available for no further cost, although customers who choose a larger model may need to pay an additional Advance Payment. A family member, carer, or friend who lives within five miles of the disabled customer can drive the car on the customer’s behalf if they do not drive.
Customers only need to budget for fuel, oil, and consumables, such as windscreen washer fluid and any additional extras not fitted as standard to their chosen car.
To qualify, you must be in receipt of one of the government-funded mobility allowances listed below with at least 12-months allowance remaining.
Rather than collecting a PIP allowance (Personal Independence Payment) this can be exchanged to lease a vehicle from a manufacturer using the Motability Operations programme.
The HRMC-DLA can be awarded to disabled children aged three and above. So, if you are a parent or guardian of a child who receives the allowance, you can order a car for use on their behalf. As long as you, or your child, receives either the HRMC-DLA or WPMS you are eligible to lease a car through Motability.
Most adaptations are carried out free of charge. Additionally, the scheme follows an all-inclusive approach to maintenance; your tyres, windows, and windscreens are replaced at no extra cost, ensuring your ongoing running costs remain predictable and manageable.
The scheme is flexible. You can drive the car yourself, or you can nominate up to two other drivers to go on the policy for you.
