Donnelly Group, Northern Ireland’s largest family-owned vehicle retailer, has donated over £1,200 to the Northern Ireland Hospice following a promotion in its Honda showrooms.
For every new or used Honda Jazz model sold in the Group’s Ballymena, Bangor, Belfast and Dungannon showrooms between the 3rd and 10th June, the Group donated £100 to the Northern Ireland Hospice.
The money raised will allow the Northern Ireland Hospice to continue delivering symptom management, end of life palliative care, specialist rehabilitation and respite care to those with life limiting conditions.
Paul Compton, Site Director at Donnelly Group Honda, said:
“The Northern Ireland Hospice supports those with cancer Motor Neurone Disease, Multiple Sclerosis and Dementia, amongst others living within our local community. With 700 employees based at nine locations across the province, the Donnelly Group is all too aware of how this can impact families and why the services provided by the Hospice are so vital.
“Throughout the year the Hospice teams work together to support the physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing of patients and one means of doing so is through music therapy which is why we chose to make the donations through sales of the Honda Jazz model.
“We’re very proud to donate these much-needed funds to the Hospice and would like to thank our customers who enthusiastically backed this campaign.”
As a leading provider of specialist palliative care in Northern Ireland, Hospice annually cares for over 4,000 infants, children and adults.
Heather Weir, Chief Executive of Northern Ireland Hospice said:
“It is an honour to accept this donation from the Donnelly Group and its customers on behalf of the Northern Ireland Hospice. It is donations such as these that allow us to continue to provide vital services to over 4,000 patients every year.
“It costs approximately £40,000 every day to run the Northern Ireland Hospice and we are enormously grateful to the Donnelly Group and its customers for their generous support during this donation offer.
“Throughout the week our fundraising teams visited the Donnelly Honda showrooms and it was wonderful for them to engage directly with customers and discuss exactly how their money would be spent at Hospice.”
