The new Yaris Yellow Edition Bi-tone is adding some extra brilliance to Toyota’s recently launched supermini range this summer, a special edition model that sports an unmissable yellow and black colour scheme. The look might be waspish, but there’s no sting: it’s styled and equipped to please.
It’s the first Yaris to be offered with a Yellow Burst paint finish, matched with a bi-tone black roof and front pillar treatment, rear privacy glass and a gloss black treatment for the front grille and side sills. The sharp exterior looks, with the new signature “catamaran” frontal design, are underscored by a set of smart black and silver 16-inch alloy wheels.
The distinctive colour theme is picked up in the cabin, with Yellow Burst surrounds for the gear shift and air vents and yellow hemming for the black carpet mats. The Yaris Yellow Edition also introduces a new two-tone black and dark grey cloth upholstery design with ribbed cushion and shoulder sections.
Equipment specifications are high, matching the current Yaris Bi-tone model strike for strike with features such as LED rear and daytime running lights, Toyota Touch 2 touchscreen-controlled multimedia system, DAB reception, cruise control and Toyota Safety Sense active safety systems.
There are two engine options: Toyota’s all-new 1.5-litre VVT-iE petrol unit and the smooth, quiet and efficient 1.5-litre petrol-electric hybrid. The 110bhp 1.5 petrol unit is engineered to meet future Euro 6c emissions standards and is a responsive performer – peak torque is 136Nm for flexible driving both around town and on the open road, while nought to 62mph acceleration can be accomplished in 11 seconds. Yaris remains unique in the supermini market in offering customers the multiple benefits of full hybrid technology, witnessed in quiet, smooth, seamless performance with low exhaust emissions and strong fuel economy (official combined cycle figures 82g/km CO2 and 78.5mpg respectively).
The Yaris Yellow Edition Bi-tone is on sale now with on-the-road prices of £17,595 for the 1.5 petrol and £19,845 for the hybrid.
