This is the fifth generation of the popular Peugeot Boxer van and it’s now better than ever. The Peugeot Boxer is available in six sizes, making it not only one of the biggest vans in its class, but also one of the most popular.
The Peugeot Boxer's cab feels more like a car environment than a van, and there is good space for the driver and two passengers. Also, there are some nice touches to the interior, making it feel extremely spacious and comfortable.
The three, four-cylinder engines all comply with Euro 4 emission standards and are characterised by their endurance and flexibility. So whether you use your fleet vans in the city or out on the open road, the Boxer’s ideal.
Unladen the van is extremely fast to drive, particularly with the 120bhp 2.2-litre HDi. The engine quickly gets the van up to motorway speeds and cruising easily at 70mph – optional cruise control is also available. Parking is made easier thanks to a tight turning circle and big, two-glass door mirrors.
Peugeot offers four body lengths and three roof heights, giving six van body options in total. In addition, there are window vans designed for minibus converters and chassis cab variants. All models feature front-wheel drive, which gives the van a usefully low loading floor and makes packing and unpacking easy. The gross weight range extends from 3,000kg to 4,005kg, making this a large payload.
The steering wheel is reach-adjustable, there are one-touch electric windows and a CD player with steering-wheel mounted controls is fitted as standard. The driver’s seat has a height-adjustable head restraint, reclining seat back, armrest and length-adjustable seat cushion. There are plenty of cubby-holes and storage including a 22-litre overhead bin, storage pocket in the door panel and an extractable container under the passengers’ seat.
