The Peugeot 508 is one of the stand-out cars in the large family class and it offers stunning styling, a wide range of efficient engines and a very high quality cabin. There are two cars in the Peugeot 508 range; the Saloon and SW estate.
Also, there are two hybrid versions to choose from - the HYbrid4 and the RXH, both of which offer extremely good performance and value for money. Access models have the basics, including air conditioning, four electric windows and a USB input.
Peugeot 508 Design
In a world where so many large executive cars seem to look the same, the 508 Saloon really stands out from the crowd.
It has a sweeping shape with a distinctive nose that incorporates its new grille and headlight combination. Peugeot has tried to give the 508 the look of a four-door coupé rather than a conventional saloon – and it works.
In terms of performance, the 508 is a leader in its field, thanks to its lightweight design, the brilliant aerodynamics and, of course, innovative engineering. The available engines range from 112 to 204bhp, with competitive statistics for fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. The fastest engine in the line-up is the 201bhp 2.2-litre diesel GT, which does 0-60mph in around eight seconds. It all adds up to a car whose environmental credentials are as impressive as its performance.
The 508 HYbrid4 has spectacular statistics with fuel consumption figures of 78.5mpg and CO2 emissions of 95g/km, meaning drivers will reap the rewards with rock-bottom running costs, while the 508 RXH gives you the best of both worlds – the real power of four-wheel drive, coupled with impressive fuel efficiency.
The 508 has earned itself a maximum five-star EuroNCAP crash test rating. All models come fitted with front, side and curtain airbags as standard, along with traction and stability control. An alarm and deadlocks are fitted to all models to deter thieves.
