The Renault Captur aims to combine the best of all worlds – the style and high driving position of an SUV, the space of an MPV and the fun of driving a hatchback. Which makes it a car of contrasts - curvy lines make it look smooth and light, large wheels and broad bumpers make it look sturdy.
Renault Captur Design
Despite the Captur’s compact size (it’s just over 4m long), the windscreen’s quite far forward and the roof is high, which means the inside feels quite spacious.
There’s up to 21.6cm of leg room in the back, which easily accommodates three adults, and the 455-litre boot can be extended - the rear seats can be slid back and forth as a unit, as well as split-folded.
The base model, the Expression+, comes with 16-inch alloy wheels, front and rear electric windows, Climate Control, deadlocks, and a radio with Bluetooth and a USB socket which you can plug your MP3 player into. The one-touch electric front windows also have an anti-pinch function – useful for small children or the clumsy ones among us.
The Captur has a five-star safety rating from EuroNCAP and comes with ABS, driver and passenger front, side and thorax airbags, anti-whiplash head restraints and hill start assist, which stops the car sliding if you start it on an incline. All models are operated by a card rather than a key.
And, as with many Renaults, you can personalise the look of your Captur by choosing different colours and designs for the roof, and different coloured detailing in the cabin.
