Donnelly Group empowers BC Wolves Wheelchair Basketball team with generous funding support

A Cookstown based wheelchair basketball team has been bolstered by a generous donation from Donnelly Group.

The funding provided by Donnelly Foundation and vehicle conversion specialist TBC, will enable BC Wolves to expand opportunities for wheelchair athletes and further promote inclusivity in the world of sport.

Roisin Donnelly, spokesperson for Donnelly Foundation, said:

“Donnelly Group consistently aims to positively benefit the communities in which we operate, and we are dedicated to supporting initiatives that promote diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunities for all.

"BC Wolves’ unwavering dedication to empowering athletes with mobility challenges aligns perfectly with the values of both Donnelly Foundation and TBC, and by providing this funding, we hope to propel the team's growth, enable athletes to excel, and inspire others to break barriers."

Since its launch in 2019, Donnelly Foundation has supported numerous projects including First Steps Women’s Centre and Castlecaulfield Football Club.

TBC specialises in mobility, taxi and bus, and bespoke conversions, relying on close partnerships with world-class manufacturers such as Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, Ford, Citroen, Vauxhall, Fiat and nationwide charity Motability.

Donavon McKillen, Commercial Director at TBC, commented:

“Founded on the principles of intelligence, empathy and care, TBC is passionate about providing accessibility solutions that fill the gap in the market.

“It’s this shared ethos that makes BC Wolves such a valuable group within the local community, promoting healthy competition, inclusivity, and fun for people of all abilities.

“We wish BC Wolves all the best for the upcoming season!”

John McElhattan at BC Wolves added:

“Our wheelchair basketball team was established in 2022 with the aim of encouraging more people with mobility issues to get involved in sport, and we are proud to say that our team continues to go from strength to strength.

“As a local club, we understand that success on the court is not only dependent on the skill and determination of our athletes, but also on the support and resources we receive from our community.

“We are incredibly grateful to Donnelly Group for their generous donation, and we look forward to continuing to contribute towards a vibrant and inclusive wheelchair sports community."
