Only two months after launching in the UK, the All-New Renault Kadjar is already picking up silverware, after collecting Best Crossover at the Next Green Car Awards.
The brand-new family-sized crossover won the environmental prize after overcoming opposition from rivals including the Fiat 500X 1.6 MultiJet II, Honda HR-V 1.6 i-DTEC and Mazda CX-3 1.5 Skyactiv-D. Kadjar was praised by judges thanks to its impressively low emissions of just 99g/km of CO2 – joint best-in-class – and fuel economy of up to 74.3mpg on the combined cycle (NEDC).
Selection into the awards is driven by Next Green Car’s unique NGC Rating which rates the environmental impact of all new cars on the market. This impact is considered alongside other factors including capability, suitability for purpose, impact on its sector and value for money to decide which models are shortlisted for an award.
Commenting on their decision to award the Renault Kadjar, the judges from Next Green Car said: "While it’s taken some time for a new King of the Crossovers to arrive, Renault’s All-New Kadjar easily takes the title. Efficient, comfortable, spacious and good value for money, the Kadjar raises the bar in the crossover segment."
Ken Ramirez, Managing Director, Renault UK said, “We’re delighted that the judges from Next Green Car have chosen the All-New Kadjar as their Best Crossover, recognising our newest addition to the Renault family of crossovers, not only for its environmental credentials, but also for its practicality, comfort and value for money too.”
Since it arrived in the UK in September 2015, Kadjar has strengthened Renault’s presence in the crossover market – building on the success of its compact crossover sibling, the Captur. It is already proving popular with the British car buyers thanks to its striking design, efficient powertrains, spacious interior, high levels of standard specification, best-in-class residual values and five-star Euro NCAP rating.
The All-New Kadjar is available with a choice of two diesel and one petrol, efficient yet powerful, engines in manual or EDC automatic transmissions with two- or four-wheel drive and in a choice of four trim levels. Kadjar is priced from £17,995 and comes with a four-year warranty and Renault Assistance package as standard.
