Dacia has scooped two top prizes at the Auto Trader New Car Awards 2019, being awarded ‘Best Value Brand’ for the second consecutive year and the Duster SUV awarded ‘Best Value New Car’.

Voted for by 63,000 real car owners, Dacia was a firm favourite with the public, proving the brand’s value for money credentials. Unlike other car awards, the annual Auto Trader New Car Award winners are based on the opinions of those who have bought, driven and lived with their new vehicles.

Commenting on Dacia’s wins, Ivan Aistrop, Auto Trader Road Test Editor, said: “Value is at the very heart of the Dacia brand ethos, and the two awards show that the message has not only got through to UK car buyers, but it’s also really struck a chord with them. Everyone likes to feel like they’ve got a good deal, and with a Dacia, you can be extremely confident that you have. No other car company can offer off you such a large amount of metal for such an aggressive price, and that’s a very appealing prospect indeed.”

As well as highlighting the value of the brand, Duster was also praised for its good looks, practicality, and levels of equipment in its category win.

Speaking on the latest award wins for Dacia, Ben Fletcher, Head of Dacia UK, said: “It’s great to see that Dacia’s incredible value for money offer is resonating so strongly with UK car owners and our cars are proving to be top choices every day for drivers. But value isn’t just about affordable prices, by keeping things simple we’re able to offer high quality cars with proven reliability.”

In 2018 Dacia was named as the most recommended car brand in the UK in a YouGov survey, beating 34 other manufacturers. Dacia sold 700,798 vehicles worldwide last year, an increase of 7 per cent. Sandero is still the most popular vehicle for retail sales in Europe while Duster ranks as the most popular SUV for retail sales in Europe.
