This year's Geneva International Motor Show will showcase the evolution of the Alfa Romeo brand. It will highlight the brand's return to Formula 1 under the "Alfa Romeo Racing" name, and the introduction of Italian driver Antonio Giovinazzi alongside former 2007 world champion Kimi Räikkönen, with the Giulia Quadrifoglio and Stelvio Quadrifoglio "Alfa Romeo Racing" limited editions. Alongside these high-performance models will be the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Ti, which sees the introduction of the historic "Turismo Internazionale" name to the Stelvio range, as well as the new MY19 Giulietta. More important news for the future will also be revealed during the press conference scheduled for Tuesday 5 March.
The Giulia Quadrifoglio and Stelvio Quadrifoglio "Alfa Romeo Racing" special series
The true stars of the display area will undoubtedly be the Giulia Quadrifoglio and Stelvio Quadrifoglio "Alfa Romeo Racing" limited editions. Visitors to the Geneva International Motor Show will also be able to admire the team's F1 car, to be driven his season by former world champion Kimi Räikkönen and Italian driver Antonio Giovinazzi.
The "Alfa Romeo Racing" limited edition celebrates Alfa Romeo's ever-deepening participation and involvement in the Formula 1 world championship, in partnership with Sauber. This year the team will be racing under the new official name of "Alfa Romeo Racing", so these models will proudly assert the racing history of Alfa Romeo that has seen a string of victories and top-three finishes in many international championships, including F1.
While retaining all the technical features of the Quadrifoglio models, this special series mimics the livery of the F1 cars with Trofeo White and Competizione Red two-tone paintwork. It combines unique stylistic details, including the Sparco racing seats with red stitching and carbon shell structure, with the Mopar® automatic transmission knob with carbon insert and leather and Alcantara steering wheel with carbon inserts. The interior also features a dedicated 'Alfa Romeo Racing' badge. The excitement of the racetrack is expressed by technical details such as the exposed carbon fibre roof on the Giulia, the burnished alloy wheels (19-inch on the Giulia and 20-inch on the Stelvio), red brake callipers, carbon ceramic brakes and the Akrapovič titanium exhaust. Carbon fibre details are also found on the wingmirrors, "V" insert in the front trefoil, side skirt inserts and kick plates (on Giulia).
Under the bonnet, the highly acclaimed 2.9-litre V6 Bi-Turbo petrol engine delivers 510hp and 600Nm of torque, giving the Giulia Quadrifoglio a top speed of 191mph and acceleration from zero to 62mph in 3.9 seconds, while a top speed of 176mph and a surge from zero to 62mph of 3.8 seconds is achieved by the Stelvio Quadrifoglio.
Both "Alfa Romeo Racing" models are also complete with tinted windows, Adaptive Cruise Control, Harman Kardon premium audio packag, and the AlfaTM Connect 3D Nav by Mopar infotainment system with 8.8-inch screen, with DAB radio and Apple CarPlayTM and Android AutoTM compatibility.
Alfa Romeo Stelvio Ti
The Geneva stand also debuts a Stelvio equipped with the 280hp 2.0 Turbo petrol powerplant, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and Q4 all-wheel drive. The engine is a 4-cylinder unit built entirely in aluminium with carbon drive shaft. The Alfa Romeo Stelvio with 2.0 280hp Turbo petrol engine (peak torque of 400Nm at 2,250 rpm) is best in class in terms of acceleration, powering from zero to 62mph in just 5.7 seconds. It has a top speed of 143mph. The model on display proudly bears the historic Ti, "Turismo Internazionale" acronym, only awarded to the highest specified models.
On display in Misano Blue, the Ti shows off its new burnished rear light clusters and luxurious trim, with widespread use of carbon, including on the "V" of the front trefoil and the wingmirrors. The Stelvio Ti will also sport 20-inch alloy wheels with the yellow sports brake callipers, gloss black exterior window frames and exhaust pipes, privacy glass and dark "Stelvio" and" Q4" badges.
The Alfa Romeo Giulia Veloce Ti will also be displayed alongside the Stelvio Ti in striking Misano Blue, complete with 280hp turbo petrol engine combined with 8-speed automatic transmission and Q4 all-wheel drive.
Alfa Romeo Giulietta MY19
The new MY19 Giulietta will be on display in Veloce form, with an even more aggressive look and generous standard specification. Key external features include the new sports bumpers and yellow oversize Brembo brakes and glossy black finish on the wingmirrors, handles, front grille, fog light bezel, and oversize twin exhaust pipes. An area of the Alfa Romeo stand will be dedicated to a selection of Alfa Romeo merchandise created by a group of select partners. The time-honoured Swiss watchmaker integrated the legendary Quadrifoglio emblem, which characterises the fastest Alfa Romeo cars, to make it part of the sophisticated watch mechanism. The stand will also showcase the new Alfa Romeo Dolomiti e-MTB bicycle, made in collaboration with Compagnia Ducale. The bicycle brings together the agility of the most advanced mountain bikes with the auxiliary boost of an electric motor for long and exciting rides, even off-road as the 500Wh battery is fully concealed inside the frame.
