The Volkswagen Amarok was named the best pick-up for Tow Car Awards for 2017. Judges stated that it was "The most capable pick-up we've ever tested at the Tow Car Awards".
The Tow Car Awards has been running for 11 Years, it is organised and judged by Practical Carvan, What Car? and The Camping and Caravanning Club. All vehicles entered go through a rigorous testing process, where judges look for those that tow at a high standard, has practical features for everyday driving.The final scoring is reflected on safety, value for money and resale values.
The Volkswagen Amarok 3.0 TDI 224PS Aventura, off all the pickups that were faced with the rigorous testing was judged to be the best in the category. David Motton, Tow Car Editor of Practical Caravan magazine, said: “Pick-ups haven’t been covered in glory at past Tow Car Awards, but we’re so impressed by the Amarok that we’ve given it a gong. “It felt secure and reassuring while towing, and performance on the brakes – a weak point of many pick-ups in the past – also impressed.”
