Passenger car-derived commercial vehicles exist to deliver the comfort and agility of an everyday run-around with the practicality of a van, and few can argue with the success of the Corsavan. It retains all that is good about the Corsa supermini and adds a functional load bed at the very rear to appeal to business buyers.
Just like the Corsa, the Corsavan has modern styling that follows Vauxhall’s latest design signature. A wide grille stretches across the nose with an elegant chrome strip cutting it in half, and on both side are pointed headlamps that give the front a determined expression. The Corsa’s rear windows have been replaced by durable panels, yet the same folded body work remains.
The interior quality has been upped for the latest-generation Corsavan which makes it feel even less like a van to drive. Ambient lighting and reduced road and wind noise make the cabin a comfortable environment to travel long distances in. At the back, the load area can carry up to 920 litres and features a strong half-height steel bulkhead to protect those in the front. Load-lashing eyes hold cargo firmly in place, with the option for a tough rubber floor matt also offered.

Vauxhall makes the Corsavan available with both petrol and diesel engines which return incredibly high fuel economy to make the vehicle cheap to run. The 1.3-litre CDTi 95PS ecoFLEX unit with start/stop system can achieve up to 94.2mpg combined, making stops at the pump a much rarer event. Only 87g/km of CO2 is released too, which means the model qualifies for road tax exemption. A 75PS ecoFLEX diesel, 95PS Sportive diesel and 70PS 1.2-litre petrol are the other options, each refined and rewarding.
Giving confidence whenever you venture out is the Corsavan’s
abundance of safety equipment and technology. To help avoid accidents
the manufacturer has fitted Electronic Stability Programme-plus
(ESP-plus) with traction control, emergency brake assist, hill start
assist as well as many other supporting innovations. In the event of a
collision the effects are minimised by a reinforced passenger safety
cell, side-impact protection beams and multiple airbags.
To engage occupants and keep them connected when mobile, an audio system with digital radio and iPod and USB connectivity plus Bluetooth interface are standard-fit. The British brand’s IntelliLink touchscreen infotainment system can also be added as an option to equip the Corsavan with integrated satellite navigation.
