Black Fiat 500

The new FIAT 500 has claimed the City Car award in the 2015 ContractHireAndLeasing.com Car of the Year Awards.

Now in its second year, the ContractHireAndLeasing.com Car of the Year Awards honour the best cars of the past 12 months and are adjudicated by motoring journalists James Fossdyke and John Simpson, plus experienced members of the Contract Hire and Leasing team including Mike Best (Head of Sales), Dave Timmis (MD and Founder) and Chris Evans (Web Content Manager).

The panel examined a range of criteria, such as how the vehicles performed on test drives, their design and features, their environmental credentials and, of course, their value for money and running costs. The judges concluded, “The 500 was chosen for its desirability, the gutsy performance of its 0.9-litre TwinAir engine and the impressive leasing deals on offer.”

Founded in 2000, ContractHireAndLeasing.com is the UK’s largest leasing website in terms of visitor numbers (5.5m visits a year) and enquiries generated (18,000 a month) with the most up-to-date lease deals available from main dealers and independent brokers. It currently has almost three million personal and business vehicle lease deals available via the site.

This the fourth major award, and the third business-related award, for the new FIAT 500 in the UK, which is now available with the business-oriented 1.3 MultiJet II 95hp and the 1.2-litre 69hp 'Eco' Pop Star which, thanks to its lower CO2 output, reduces the company car BIK tax liability from 17% to just 14% compared to the standard FIAT 500 1.2 69hp.

Sebastiano Fedrigo, Country Manager FIAT UK, noted: “We are proud to receive this important award from the judges at ContractHireAndLeasing.com. Driving a FIAT 500 is one of those rare occasions in life when you can indulge your head and heart. It’s easy to fall for its distinctive style, fun-to-drive characteristics and impressive new technologies but knowing you can enjoy all this without compromising on the practicalities, especially as a business user, makes the FIAT 500 an irresistible package and explains why it is endorsed by so many independent and impartial experts.”

Prices for the FIAT 500 start at just £10,890 OTR for the 1.2 litre Pop, while the business-friendly 1.2 Pop Star ‘Eco’ and 1.3 MultiJet II 95hp Pop Star are priced from £11,865 OTR and £14,165 OTR respectively.
