The 'Theodora Charity Party' fund-raiser was held last Thursday evening in Milan, with Alfa Romeo supporting the cause as the main sponsor. Hosted at Garage Italia and organised by the Theodora Children's Charity in association with Michelin-starred chef Carlo Cracco, the exclusive event raised money for the charity which aims to bring a smile to the faces of children in hospital with special visits from the "Giggle Doctors".
Founded in Switzerland in 1993, and active in Italy since 1995, the Theodora Children's Charity has more than 200 Giggle Doctors - professional entertainers trained to work on paediatric wards - in Spain, France, United Kingdom, Belarus, Turkey and Hong Kong. In Italy every year the 32 Giggle Doctors bring the magic of fun and laughter to more than 35,000 children in 38 paediatric wards. The Theodora Charity Party originated as a way to make these special visits possible for the children at the Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori, Milan. This February, the charity has also started a new programme of visits to the oncology, haematology and transplant wards of Padua Hospital
Alfa Romeo provided the organisers with the official, autographed race suit of Charles Leclerc, the Formula One driver who drove the Alfa Romeo single-seater during the last Formula One racing season. What's more, guests at the "Theodora Charity Party" enjoyed a close look at a Giulia Quadrifoglio 'NRING', the special limited edition which celebrates the historic bond of supreme success linking Alfa Romeo to the legendary German Nürburgring circuit. So Alfa Romeo's technical and sporting excellence added greatly to the excitement of this special charity evening.
